A calmer, clearer way to learn technology
Handy Guide is an independent educational library. Our only goal is to help everyday people understand how their devices work — in plain language, for free.

Technology is part of daily life, yet the way it's explained often assumes you already understand it. Error messages are cryptic, settings are buried, and advice frequently jumps straight to steps without explaining why. That gap leaves a lot of capable people feeling stuck.
Handy Guide exists to close that gap. We take the concepts behind common devices — printers, Wi-Fi, email, drivers, Windows updates — and explain them in language anyone can follow. We believe that when you understand what's happening, technology stops feeling intimidating and starts feeling manageable.
Everything here is free to read. There are no accounts, no downloads, and nothing for sale. Our success is simply whether you leave a page understanding something you didn't before.

The principles behind every guide
Simple language
We write for real people, not engineers. Every term is introduced plainly, so no prior knowledge is assumed.
Clear boundaries
We are educational only. We never sell software, offer support, or ask you to download anything.
Accuracy with humility
We explain general concepts carefully and point you to official documentation for device-specific steps.

Routers & Wi-Fi

Our editorial process
Every guide follows the same simple path from idea to publication.
Identify topics
We choose everyday questions people genuinely ask about their devices.
Check references
We ground each explanation in widely accepted, general technical understanding.
Simplify wording
We rewrite until the idea is clear without needing a glossary.
Publish clearly
We structure each guide so it's easy to scan, read, and revisit.
What we don't do
Being clear about our limits is part of being trustworthy. Handy Guide is a publisher of educational content — nothing more. We are not a support service, a repair shop, or a software store, and we are not affiliated with any hardware maker, software publisher, or operating system vendor.
If you need hands-on help, please rely on the official support channels for your device or software. For general questions about this website, you can reach us at hello@handyguide.co.
